First Day Complete

In case we don't get a chance to tell everyone personally, here is a recap of the day.

We dropped Jake off and he was a complete champ. He settled right down. We finally figured out the routine - we drop Jake off to line up outside his classroom at about 7:55. Then Nick & I go home - we picked up a single jogger stroller (having sold our double at the yard sale in KS this spring) - and we're going to start walking in the mornings while Jake is at school. And probably make commissary runs, too - it is significantly easier with one of them than with both of them.

Then we go back and wait in the lobby until Jake comes out with his class at about 10:55. Then it's home for lunch and snooze.

When I picked Jake up this morning, he said he had a good time but he wasn't going back tomorrow. I couldn't get much in the way of reasoning out of him, so we'll see, I guess, what happens. We did tell him that he will, in fact, be going to school tomorrow and the next day. He was pretty disappointed that he didn't get to use all the school supplies this over-zealous Mom bought. It's hard to explain to a little person that there won't be much done in 2.5 hours a day!
