Nick's Hat

Nick finds things and claims them as his own. He found a pair of shoes that had been Jake’s earlier this spring and claimed them. This time, it was a hat…about 12 sizes too big… but TOOOOO cute!

KC Zoo

A great day had by all!!!

Movers...

AT long last, our stuff has joined us

Jake & Nick “helped” Daddy check off the boxes

Checking out the front steps

Boxes are FUN!

Vacation

We spent a week in Ohio at Uncle Dave & Aunt Sally’s house for a family reunion or two and some relaxation!

Nick had the first casualty – falling out of the wagon

Pawpaw was very popular – especially when he got out Uncle Dave’s tractor

And bonding with Daddy at the rest stop on the way home

(My camera ended up being in our room a lot on the journey…)

Army Family in transit

How do we do it, you ask? Well, first, you aim for a door to door move, so you’re not long without your belongings…

When that doesn’t work, you bring enough with you, that you can make do.

A picnic table (Thanks, Nana!!) and a couple of folding chairs – this works in the play room

And it works while you’re waiting…

…and waiting for the movers

You pack some tough boxes (used to take Matt’s gear to and from Iraq) to be used as an entertainment center (bring your own LCD/DVD combo…)

And an air mattress so you have a sofa…

A dinette set so you can still strap down the toddlers for meals...

When all else fails…go on vacation…pics are coming up!
