From our family to yours...Happy Thanksgiving! We're thankful to have you all in our life! We're thankful for all the friends coming over to join us for the holidays! We're thankful Matt is here this year, and not overseas. We're thankful for our health! We look forward to another great year - after a great Christmas with the boys!

First Snow

We were playing in the house this morning when between the slats in the blinds I could tell that there was white stuff on the grass. It was really wet snow, but we had to go investigate and try out our winter boots. The boys had a good time and still couldn't understand why we couldn't play on our playground. It has since melted - the temps have been hovering right around freezing all day. I'm guessing the sidewalks will be treacherous tomorrow. Matt's lucky - we'll take him to school tomorrow since Jake has school. There is more snow expected tonight. We look forward to seeing Mr. Sun poke his head out sometime Wednesday or Thursday!

Making Bread

I could see weather will soon be getting the best of us and the time is upon us where getting outside to play will be the exception instead of the rule. So, we took advantage to try something new...making bread. We've started out simple using the bread maker on the dough while we get the hang of what we're doing. Our first product was two loaves of Italian Bread and they were pretty good!

Ms.Kari's Photo Shoot

Our good friend Kari agreed to take our family photos this year. Last year, being at the photo studio was crazy. Despite scheduling it after the boys’ nap time, they were still pretty uncooperative and probably a little uncomfortable since we didn’t know the people. So…this year, we got with Ms. Kari. This way, I can print whatever pictures I want…and not have to worry about 2 of a certain size when I only want one and that kind of thing.

We all had a pretty good time! I wasn’t going to post pictures of the shoot…but changed my mind. Others will be out with the Christmas cards!

Back up and running

My laptop power supply died last week - so we (I) fell even farther behind on the blog updating. I apologize...but thankfully the tech from Dell showed up today! Woohoo! I'm back up and updating the blog as I can!

We had a conference with Jake's teacher last week. It was pretty funny to me that a 3 1/2 year old gets a parent teacher conference. He's doing very well! They said he doesn't sit still during story time - he does with us, so we're guessing the subject matter may not meet with his approval. They also said we need to work on holding the pencil correctly. We'll see what we can do, but have it on good authority, that we'll be just fine! :)

Matt has been busy at school and with his Masters Program. We're looking forward to our Army Family coming over for Thanksgiving. (Present count is 10 adults and 9 kids...with the possibility of growth!) The Saturday after Thanksgiving Matt heads to Germany for 2 weeks for an exchange program in Hamburg. He's excited to go back for a visit!

Shortly after he gets back, we head to Ohio for Baby CJ's Baptism. We can't wait to meet her!

I'm trying to get the blog updated! Stay tuned!

Nick's Birthday

Here are some shots from Nick's Birthday Party. He had a GREAT time and made out like a bandit! We're lucky to have such great friends!!

Cake & Cupcakes - made by Mommy!

Lightning McQueen Cake

Jake - hamming it up

The Party table

Love Nick's Expression

The Post kids - they lived across the street from us in TX. We've known them since they were the size of, or smaller than, Jake & Nick

Party was at the Carousel Museum - and that thing FLEW! It was super fast - but fun!

I think he was still a little stunned!

Ft. Hood Shootings

As of 4:19 CST on Thursday, our friends are as accounted for as they can be. I won't even speculate as to what happened, but we are shaken. We, like you, are praying for everyone involved in the shootings. We are also praying for all our friends and families who are down there and now having to find a sense of feeling safe again.

God be with them all!
